What are the documents needed to rent a car?

When renting a car, we need your identity card (or passport) and driving license. In the case of additional drivers, these documents are also required for them. In order to save on your time, but also ours, we will always ask you for these documents in advance, so that at the time of the meeting with the car rental agent, the agreement is already filled out with all the necessary information. The documents can be sent either by e-mail or Whatsapp.

Why do I have to pay a guarantee?

The guarantee or security deposit is first and foremost for the driver's accountability for caring for the rented car. The guarantee varies depending on the car, the age of the driver, where you will travel by car, but especially the age of the driving licence. If upion return, the car will be in the same condition in which it was rented, you will receive the full guarantee back. Otherwise, if the car has been damaged, we will charge you a guarantee based on the provisions mentioned in the car rental agreement. You can read more at the Terms and Conditions section.

How can I pay for the rented car?

Payment can be made in cash, by card or by bank transfer, based on a proforma invoice. The guarantee will always be paid in cash. For the latter, you will receive the invoice and receipt. Payment can be made in RON, EUR or GBP.

What happens if I damage the rented car?

Where the rented car is involved in a road accident or damaged for various reasons, first of all, you will announce Alpha Rent A Car Company, regardless of the time of day or night, to tell what happened. Exception makes obviously the situation in which there are victims and the 112 emergency service must be called. Also, any failure to the rental car must be notified as soon as possible. Any kind of repairs or interventions on the rented car on your own initiative are forbidden.

Why do you need my papers in advance?

In order to rent a car, we need the driver's ID card / passport and driving licence. We always ask them in advance so that, when meeting with the car rental agent, the data are already filled out in the agreement. It is a way that helps us save your time, but also ours. Also, the next time you rent from us, not only we will have your data in advance, but being entered into our database, you will receive bonuses and loyalty discounts.

What happens if I get a fine?

First of all, you will pay the fine inflicted upon you and when returning the car, you will submit a copy of the protocol and the payment evidence. In case of bridge tolls paid by SMS, you will send us a screenshot with the proof of payment. In case you refuse to pay the fine, our legal department will proceed with the debt recovering proceedings.

Am I allowed to leave the country with Alfa Rent A Car cars?

It is forbidden to leave the Romanian territory with the car rented through Alpha Rent A Car website. In case you want to leave the country with a rented car, special rates, different from those presented in the offer on our website, will apply. Also, you need a special power of attorney on the basis of which you will cross the border.

What is the mileage limit for the rented cars?

Most Alpha Rent A Car cars do not have a mileage limit, but to find out more about the exceptions to the rule, we are at your disposal by telephone or through the Contact page.

Why is that I can not benefit from the start from the lowest price displayed on the website?

Our car rental rates are calculated according to the number of days: the greater the number of days, the lower the price. It is worth mentioning that the payment will always be made in advance, in full, for the entire rental period. The car rental rate does not include the guarantee (security deposit). This is always paid separately and is calculated according to several factors.

What extra fees should I expect?

Alpha Rent a Car has no hidden fees and costs. Because we like transparency, we detail below all the additional costs and services you can request:

What is the loyalty card?

You receive the loyalty card at the first rental of a car from Alfa Rent A Car. This card offers you a 10% discount on the following rentals. We mention that this card is not transferable from one customer to another.

How should I proceed if the car gets damaged?

If you rent a car from Alpha Rent A Car, by contract, we undertake to offer you 24/7 road assistance. So, whatever happens to the car, give us a telephone, and we will provide you with another car of similar or higher class.
